Residential Solar Aggregation

As a homeowner with rooftop solar panels, you can be compensated for the energy your solar system generates. For every megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity generated by your solar system, you can earn one Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC).

What’s a SREC?

An SREC or solar renewable energy certificate is created for every megawatt-hour of electricity generated by solar. SRECs represent the renewable attributes of the electricity that your solar panels produce. SRECs are used by utilities, corporations and government entities to make and track environmental claims.

How does it work?

SRECs are generated based on the actual electricity produced by your solar system. We gather all the required documents, monitor production and help you get paid for your SRECs.

How do I get paid?

In states with applicable programs, solar energy owners are able to make money by selling these SRECs. You can choose to receive either one upfront payment for the length of your solar term, annual payments (based on the previous year’s production) or market-based payments (based on actual production and current market rate).

Carbon Solutions Group is one of the largest aggregators in North America, and we now have over 20,0000 customers. Through our industry leading technology we are able to offer a seamless customer experience.

An SREC is a Solar Renewable Energy Credit that is produced for every 1000 kWh (1 MWh) of production your Solar System generates. They are production-based incentives that represent the green attributes produced by your solar project. These SRECs are state incentivized credits that can become a passive income for the solar system owners.

This depends on market prices and the state you live. Please submit your information via our “SREC Quote” form and we will send a pricing for your system.

Selling your SRECs has no impact on Net Metering. You can participate in both net metering and sell SRECs at the same time. This is because Net Metering has to do with excess energy production, whereby you can receive a credit from your electricity supplier. SRECs are solely the environmental attributes, so if you use all of your production, or put all of it back on the grid for others to consume, it has no impact on your SREC production or ability to sell them.

Your power bill is unaffected by SRECs. SRECs are “Solar Renewable Energy Credits” and they represent the environmental attributes of the power that you produce. You will not see any changes on your utility bill.

They told me their time frame, they told me their minimum requirements. I signed the contract, I generated my megawatt hour, they sent me a check, all within the time frame promised. No surprises, no drama.
