Taking CleanTech to New Depths
Moho is short for Mohorovičić discontinuity which is the boundary surface between the earth’s crust and the mantle, lying at a depth of about 6–7 miles (10–12 km) under the ocean bed and about 24–30 miles (40–50 km) under the continents. Croatian seismologist Andrija Mohorovičić is credited with first discovering and defining the Moho and using the discovering to advance the science of seismology. The Moho represents an aspirational drilling depth for mankind and two important projects; the Kola Superdeep Borehold in Murmansk, Russian and Project Mohole in the United states have helped advance drilling on land and in sea in the pursuit of the important scientific objective.
Moho Thermal is Carbon Solutions Group’s Distributed Geothermal as a Service (DGAS) business. Moho is modeled after the solar lease or power purchase construct whereby CSG is responsible for developing, owning and operating the geothermal system. CSG sells our customers thermal energy at a fixed price for a term. System sizes range from residential to large commercial systems and pricing is competitive with existing fossil derived thermal heating & cooling.
